Guidance on Cleaning Backup Generators

The Ministry of Finance issued Circular 94/2017/TT-BTC on September 21, 2017, providing specific guidance on the maintenance of standby generators.

According to Circular 94, the cleaning of generators shall be guided as follows:

- Clean and remove all dirt, grease stains on the external surface of the generator. Use clean water and soap to wash the frame, protective cover, and tires (if any). Then use an air compressor to dry the entire machine;- Protect and preserve all signs, instructions, or warnings with text and drawings on the machine. Cleaning must absolutely not result in the loss of these signs. When cleaning these signs, use a cloth and soapy water, do not use chemicals or gasoline; ensure that the signs and drawings on the machine are not blurred or lost;- Do not use high-pressure water pumps to spray directly to clean the engine, generator head, and electrical control parts of the generator; absolutely ensure that water does not get inside the engine, generator head, and generator control panel.

For more details, see Circular 94/2017/TT-BTC, effective from November 10, 2017.
