Providing support of 500,000 VND to union members and workers in difficulty due to Covid-19
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has decided to allocate financial support to union members and workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, with a support amount of 500,000 VND per person. The specific recipients eligible for support include:
- Union members and workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic who lost their jobs or had reduced working hours leading to lost income, or income equal to or lower than the statutory pay rate as regulated (1,490,000 VND/month), in difficult circumstances at the time of applying for support, and not being recipients of the support package under Resolution 42/NQ-CP dated April 9, 2020, of the Government of Vietnam on measures to support people in difficulty due to the COVID-19 pandemic (Resolution 42/NQ-CP).
- Union members and workers who have received support under Resolution 42/NQ-CP of the Government of Vietnam but are in particularly difficult circumstances, including:
- Female workers who are pregnant from the 7th month onwards or raising children under 6 months old;- Workers suffering from serious diseases currently being treated (hospitalized or outpatient); union members with a spouse, child, or elderly parent (living together and dependent) suffering from serious diseases;- Union members who are disabled, have not received compensation for workplace accidents;- Other particularly difficult cases directly affecting labor capacity, health, and livelihood...
Note: Each recipient can only receive support once.
Details:
- Period considered for impact: From March 1, 2020, to May 31, 2020.- Implementation period: No later than July 30, 2020.- Source of support funds: From the accumulated finances of the Provincial and Municipal Labor Federations; Central Industry Trade Unions and equivalents; Trade Unions under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and higher-level direct trade unions; the total expenditure must not exceed 50% of the contingency fund as per the 2020 budget allocation decision by the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
Additionally, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor strictly prohibits organizations and individuals from abusing this decision for profiteering. Any violations, depending on their nature and severity, will be subjected to compensation and disciplinary action, administrative violations, or criminal prosecution according to the law.
