Completion of the Draft Law on Support for Small and Medium Enterprises

After the consultation workshop on the draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) held on June 9. Information from the Ministry of Planning and Investment indicates that the draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises has been completed.

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) make up more than 90% of the nearly 500,000 active enterprises. Therefore, in the integration journey, the influence of SMEs is significant. To meet the economic targets for the 2016-2020 period, the issuance of the Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises is imperative.

The Draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises comprises 7 chapters with 49 articles. The support contents include:

- Improving the business environment;- Access to credit;- Corporate income tax support;- Technological capacity support;- Training,- Consultation and information;- Public procurement;- Market expansion promotion…

Additionally, the draft also identifies specialized support measures aimed at small and medium enterprises with development potential in certain sectors, which are Vietnam's advantages…

There are 5 support programs, including:

- Startup support;- Consultation to enhance production efficiency;- Development of industry linkages and value chains;- Innovation and integration support.

The Draft Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises is expected to be passed in the 3rd Session - 14th National Assembly.
