What are the Functions of the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications?

Decree 140/2013/ND-CP stipulates that the Inspectorate of the Department of Information and Communications is an agency under the Department of Information and Communications, assisting the Director of the Department in conducting administrative inspections of agencies, organizations, and individuals under the management scope of the Department of Information and Communications; conducting specialized inspections in the field of information and communications within the management scope of the Department of Information and Communications; handling complaints, denunciations, and anti-corruption as prescribed by law.

The Inspectorate of the Department consists of the Chief Inspector, Deputy Chief Inspectors, Inspectors, and other officials. Specifically:

- The Chief Inspector is appointed, dismissed, and removed by the Director of the Department of Information and Communications after consultation with the Chief Inspector of the province.- Deputy Chief Inspectors are appointed, dismissed, and removed by the Director of the Department of Information and Communications based on the recommendation of the Chief Inspector of the Department.

The Inspectorate of the Department is under the direction and management of the Director of the Department of Information and Communications; is under the guidance on inspection work and administrative inspection operations of the provincial Inspectorate; and is guided on specialized inspection operations in information and communications by the Ministry's Inspectorate.

The establishment of the Inspectorate of the Department is decided by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee upon the proposal of the Director of the Department of Information and Communications, after consultation with the Chief Inspector of the province. The Inspectorate of the Department has its own seal and account.

Below are some tasks and powers of the Inspectorate of the Department:

- Develop inspection plans submitted to the Director of the Department of Information and Communications for approval; organize the implementation of inspection plans under the responsibility of the Department Inspectorate.- Conduct administrative inspections of agencies, organizations, and individuals under the direct management of the Department of Information and Communications.- Inspect the implementation of laws on press; publishing; postal services; telecommunications; radio frequency; information technology, electronics; broadcasting and television; news agencies; foreign information; grassroots information and national information and communications infrastructure for agencies, organizations, and individuals within the local management scope.- Guide and inspect agencies and units under the Department of Information and Communications in the implementation of laws on inspection.- ...
