Recently, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP regarding the technical ranking for pilots and crew members in the Vietnam People's Army Force.
Vietnam: Standards of main pilots at all ranks of transport and patrol aircraft from January 01, 2021 (Illustrative image)
Under Article 10 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP, the standards of Rank 3 main pilot of transport and patrol aircraft in Vietnam include:
- Qualifications in piloting technique, navigation, and task performance capability:
+ Being a main pilot, dual-role pilot, and military air navigator;
+ Having undergone tests and been approved according to point b, clause 1, Article 7 of this Circular in conditions of simple meteorological days and complex meteorological days.
- Flying hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flying hours ≥ 400 hours;
+ Accumulated flying hours on the current aircraft for transitioning pilots ≥ 50 hours.
Additionally, the standards of Rank 2 main pilot of transport and patrol aircraft in Vietnam are specifically prescribed as follows:
- Qualifications in piloting technique, navigation, and task performance capability:
+ Being a Rank 3 main pilot, dual-role pilot, and military air navigator;
+ Having undergone tests and been approved according to point b, clause 1, Article 7 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP in conditions of simple meteorological days, complex meteorological days, and simple meteorological nights.
- Flying hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flying hours ≥ 700 hours;
+ Accumulated flying hours on the current aircraft for transitioning pilots ≥ 80 hours.
Furthermore, Article 12 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP stipulates the standards of Rank 1 main pilot of transport and patrol aircraft in Vietnam as follows:
- Qualifications in piloting technique, navigation, and task performance capability:
+ Being a Rank 2 main pilot, dual-role pilot, and military air navigator;
+ Having undergone tests and been approved according to point b, clause 1, Article 7 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP in conditions of simple meteorological days, complex meteorological days, simple meteorological nights, and complex meteorological nights.
- Flying hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flying hours ≥ 900 hours;
+ Accumulated flying hours on the current aircraft for transitioning pilots ≥ 120 hours.
