On December 17, 2020, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 21/2012/TT-BTTTT regulating the activities of Vietnam Post in international postal organizations.
Vietnam Post is provided with international with postal services (Internet image)
According to Article 5 of Circular No. 21/2012/TT-BTTTT, Vietnam Post is designated by the State to provide international postal services and participate in activities within international postal organizations under international postal treaties and other relevant statutory provisions. Vietnam Post participates in activities within international postal organizations with the following contents:
- Provide international postal services within the framework of international postal treaties.
- Participate in the Postal Operations Council and associations affiliated with international postal organizations.
- Implement projects, technical cooperation programs, and sustainable development activities in the global and regional postal field.
- Participate in the Universal Postal Union Congress and the Asia-Pacific Postal Union Congress.
- Implement international treaties and overall strategies, master plans, action programs of international postal organizations.
- Execute agreements signed by the Ministry of Information and Communications with member countries of international postal organizations to implement international postal treaties.
Note: International postal organizations include: Universal Postal Union, comprising the Congress, Council of Administration, Postal Operations Council, International Bureau, and affiliated committees and associations; Asia-Pacific Postal Union, comprising the Congress, Executive Council, Office, and affiliated bodies and associations.
