Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree No. 118/2020/NĐ-CP on amendments to Decree No. 69/2010/NĐ-CP dated June 21, 2020 of Vietnam’s Government on biosafety for genetically modified organisms, genetic specimens and products of genetically modified organisms.
According to Clause 10 Article 1 of Decree No. 118/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government supplementing Article 19a after Article 19 of Decree No. 69/2010/NĐ-CP, entitlement and procedures for reissuance of permit for testing genetically modified organisms are specified as follows:
- Permit for testing genetically modified organisms shall be reissued in following cases:
+ Changes to information on organizations granted with permit for testing genetically modified organisms;
+ Lost, damaged or worn-out permit for testing genetically modified organisms.
- Application for reissuance consists of:
+ Written application using Form No. 7 under Annex attached to this Decree;
+ Permit for testing genetically modified organisms previously issued in case of changes to information on the organizations or damaged or worn-out permit;
+ Documents proving changes to information on organizations granted with permits for testing genetically modified organisms.
- Applicants shall submit 1 application for reissuance as specified under Clause 2 of this Article to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in person, via postal service or via the internet.
- Within 07 working days from the date on which adequate applications are received, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall consider reissuing permits for testing genetically modified organisms.
