According to Article 5 of Decree 109/2015/ND-CP, People's Artisans and Distinguished Artisans awarded by the state belonging to households with an average monthly per capita income lower than the statutory pay rate as prescribed by the Government of Vietnam (at the time of issuance of this Decree, it is VND 1,150,000) upon death, the agency, organization, or individual directly organizing the funeral is supported by the state with a funeral cost assistance of VND 7,000,000.

In addition, this Decree also stipulates many state support policies for People's Artisans and Distinguished Artisans, such as:

- The state budget covers health insurance at the same rate as for people from poor households (the rate at the time of issuance of this Decree is 4.5% of the statutory pay rate as prescribed by the Government of Vietnam). They are entitled to health insurance when receiving medical examinations and treatments at the rate same as for people from poor households as per the law on health insurance.

- Monthly living allowance:

+ VND 1,000,000 applies to individuals who are 55 years old and above for females and 60 years old and above for males who do not have anyone obligated or entitled to support them; severely or extremely disabled persons; individuals suffering from one of the diseases requiring long-term treatment as per the list regulated by the Ministry of Health;

+ VND 850,000 applies to the following subjects:

- Subjects mentioned in Points a, b, and c Clause 1 Article 2 of this Decree belonging to households with an average monthly per capita income from 50% of the statutory pay rate to less than the statutory pay rate;- Subjects mentioned in Point d Clause 1 Article 2 of this Decree belonging to households with an average monthly per capita income less than 50% of the statutory pay rate.

+ VND 700,000 applies to the subjects mentioned in Point d Clause 1 Article 2 of this Decree belonging to households with an average monthly per capita income from 50% of the statutory pay rate to less than the statutory pay rate.
