In the Regulation on Minimum Knowledge Volume, Competency Requirements that Learners Must Achieve After Graduating from Intermediate and College Levels in the Metal Cutting Industry, issued with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level in the metal cutting industry are specified as follows:

- Be able to draw some detailed drawings, assembly drawings that meet the technical requirements on technical drawing software, and process details according to technical requirements;

- Convert tolerance symbols into corresponding dimensions for machining according to requirements;

- Use handheld cutting tools such as chisels, files on flat surfaces, drilling holes, threading with threading taps, hand tapping, and hand sawing;

- Proficiently use one or more types of machine tools such as universal lathes, universal milling machines, planers - shapers, grinders, drilling - boring machines, CNC lathes, CNC milling machines;

- Be able to use inspection and measuring tools;

- Sharpen some types of turning tools, milling cutters, planers, and drill bits meeting the technical requirements;

- Detect and repair some common types of machine and fixture errors. Perform maintenance on some basic technological equipment;

- Process some shaped machine details on universal lathes, universal milling machines, planers - shapers, grinders, drilling - boring machines, CNC lathes, and CNC milling machines according to requirements;

- Develop technological processes to machine a product under the supervision of technical staff;

- Inspect the product quality according to conformable standards;

- Develop production plans and manage their implementation, carry out the 5S process;

- Utilize basic information technology as prescribed; apply information technology in some specialized tasks of the industry;

- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 1/6 in the Vietnam's Foreign Language Proficiency Framework; apply foreign language skills in some specialized tasks of the industry.
