According to the Regulation on the Minimum Knowledge Volume and Competence Requirements that Learners Must Achieve After Graduating at the Intermediate Level, College Level in the Field of Operation and Repair of Refrigeration Equipment issued with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level field of operation and repair of refrigeration equipment is a profession involving the operation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration equipment at production and business establishments using refrigeration equipment such as post-harvest processing and storage plants, breweries, pharmaceutical factories, dairies, textile factories, supermarkets, restaurants, high-rise buildings, resorts, and units installing refrigeration systems; consulting units, refrigeration equipment business and service establishments, meeting Level 4 requirements in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.

The main duties of the profession include: Operating industrial refrigeration systems, operating residential and commercial air conditioning systems, maintaining industrial refrigeration systems, maintaining residential and commercial air conditioning systems, repairing industrial refrigeration systems, repairing residential and commercial air conditioning systems, trading, and providing materials and refrigeration equipment services.

The working environment for individuals in the field of operation and repair of refrigeration equipment often involves high intensity work, in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, exposure to electrical equipment, pressure equipment, and refrigerants; under the pressure of time and ensuring satisfaction for businesses, customers, and partners.

To practice, workers must have good health, good professional ethics, a spirit of cooperation, teamwork, sufficient specialized knowledge, and professional skills matching the job position, knowledge of foreign languages, information technology, and understanding of Vietnamese law. Additionally, they need to constantly self-study, update new issues, approach new technologies, green technologies in the trained profession; continuously cultivate meticulousness, detail-oriented, clarity; build professional awareness and passion.
