On February 10, 2019, Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of BLDTBXH promulgated regulations on the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of mechanical engineering took effect.

According to the regulations on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the metal cutting profession issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the metal cutting profession at the college level is a profession where practitioners use various universal machine tools and numerically controlled machines such as lathes, milling machines, planers, grinders, reamers, etc., to manufacture parts that meet technical requirements, achieve productivity and safety to meet the needs of enterprises in the field of machinery manufacturing, machining, and mechanical services, meeting level 5 requirements in Vietnam's national qualification framework.
Metal Cutting practitioners mainly work in workshops, factories, manufacturing, and mechanical equipment manufacturing enterprises, machine parts, etc., in an industrial environment. Therefore, practitioners must have good health, good professional ethics, always practice meticulousness, detail, clarity; build professional awareness and passion for the profession; and have sufficient professional knowledge and skills to meet the job requirements.
Minimum knowledge volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
