Some Minimum Conditions for Graduation in the Field of Geodetic Survey at the Intermediate Level

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels for disciplines and professions in the fields of computer science, information technology, and technical technology.

Minimum conditions for graduating from TC in Geodetic Surveying (Illustration)

as stipulated in the regulations issued with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH outlining the requirements regarding the minimum knowledge learners must achieve upon graduation from the intermediate level in the field of geodetic surveying. Specifically:

- Explain the principles of structure, operation, usage, technical parameters, and errors of common geodetic instruments such as: Theodolites, Leveling Instruments, Total Stations, GNSS Receivers;

- Explain the process of using, maintaining, checking, and simple error calibration of geodetic instruments;

- Explain the process and methods of constructing control networks using traditional methods and GNSS technology;

- Explain the process of mapping, creating topographical maps, and different types of topographical profiles;

- Explain the preliminary layout methods for construction projects;

- Explain the methods for determining benchmarks and measuring surface deformation;

- Explain different types of errors and the methods for simple error computation in geodetic surveys;

- Describe the process of using common geodetic software for creating topographical and construction maps;

- Explain the safe and effective implementation methods of project execution; evaluate the results of task performance;

- Explain the basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed.

Additionally, regarding skills, learners must meet the following minimum requirements:

- Operate common geodetic instruments such as: Theodolites, Leveling Instruments, Total Stations, GNSS Receivers;

- Check and calibrate simple errors of common geodetic instruments such as: Theodolites, Leveling Instruments, Total Stations, GNSS Receivers;

- Measure and calculate control networks using traditional methods and GNSS technology;

- Map and create various types of topographical profiles;

- Measure and calculate fundamental elements for preliminary construction layout;

- Utilize common geodetic software to create maps and surveys for projects: Traffic, Irrigation, Hydro-electric;

- Place benchmarks and measure surface deformation;

- Implement effective and safe work plans;

- Apply new technologies and green skills to meet the demands of Industry 4.0 in geodetic surveys;

- Utilize basic information technology as prescribed; apply information technology in some professional tasks of the field;

- Use basic foreign languages at level 1/6 according to Vietnam's language proficiency framework; apply foreign languages in some professional tasks of the field.

Moreover, learners must achieve the following minimum levels of autonomy and responsibility:

- Be careful, meticulous, serious, and economical with materials and resources;

- Work independently or in teams, handling work in changing conditions;

- Have professional ethics, honesty in survey, calculation, adjustment and preliminary layout results;

- Evaluate individual performance; ensure the implementation of plans, schedules, and assigned tasks;

- Take responsibility for individual work;

- Ensure safety for people, machines, equipment, and tools during task execution.
