From January 1, 2021, the Law on Enterprises 2020 passed by the National Assembly will take effect.

To be specific: Article 215 of the Enterprise Law 2020 stipulates the responsibilities of state management agencies, including:
- The Government of Vietnam uniformly manages state administration towards enterprises.
- Ministries and ministerial-level agencies are responsible to the Government of Vietnam for the implementation of assigned tasks in state administration towards enterprises.
- The provincial People's Committees execute state administration towards enterprises within their localities.
- Ministries, ministerial-level agencies, related agencies, and provincial People's Committees, within the scope of their duties and powers assigned, are responsible for establishing connections, interoperability, and information sharing with the National Database on enterprise registration with the following information:
- Information on business licenses, certificates of eligibility for business, practice certificates, certificates or approval documents on business conditions issued to enterprises, and decisions on administrative penalties for violations by enterprises;- Information on the operational status and tax submission of enterprises from tax reports; financial statements of enterprises;- Cooperation and information sharing on the operational status of enterprises to enhance the effectiveness of state management.
Additionally, Clause 1 of Article 216 of the Enterprise Law 2020 stipulates that business registration agencies have the following duties and powers:
- Handle enterprise registration and issue Enterprise Registration Certificates in accordance with the law;
- Coordinate in building and managing the National Information System on enterprise registration; publicly disclose and provide information to state agencies, organizations, and individuals as required by law;
- Request enterprises to report on compliance with this Law's provisions when deemed necessary; urge enterprises to fulfill reporting obligations;
- Directly or propose competent state agencies to inspect and supervise enterprises according to the content in the enterprise registration dossiers;
- Be responsible for the validity of the enterprise registration dossiers, not be responsible for the violations of the enterprises that occur before and after enterprise registration;
- Handle violations of the law on enterprise registration; revoke Enterprise Registration Certificates and request enterprises to carry out dissolution procedures as stipulated in the Enterprise Law 2020;
- Other duties and powers as prescribed by law.
