The responsibilities of individuals and families in drug prevention and control within society are specifically regulated in Article 7 of the Draft Law on Drug Prevention and Control as follows:

- Family members must educate their family members and relatives about the harmful effects of drugs and comply with the laws on drug prevention and control; manage and prevent family members from participating in drug-related crimes and evils.- Strictly follow the physician's prescriptions on the use of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances for medical treatment.- Actively cooperate with the authorities in the fight against drug-related crimes; participate in supporting drug rehabilitation activities at rehabilitation facilities and in the community; monitor and help rehabilitated drug addicts reintegrate into the community; prevent recidivism.- Report information on drug-related crimes and evils, the cultivation of plants containing narcotic substances to the Police Department or competent state agencies; participate in eradicating plants containing narcotic substances organized by local authorities.
