Requirements of Ministerial-Level Science and Technology Projects according to Circular 33/2014/TT-BKHCN

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued Circular 33/2014/TT-BKHCN which promulgates regulations on the management of ministerial-level science and technology tasks of the Ministry of Science and Technology, therein stipulating the requirements for ministerial-level science and technology projects.

The requirements for ministry-level science and technology projects are stipulated as follows:

- For application research and technology development projects: The projected technology or scientific product must have a specific application address or commercial viability; at least one article must be published in a domestic specialized journal.

- For projects in the field of social sciences and humanities: The results must provide scientific argumentation and prompt solutions to address practical issues in the formulation and implementation of the policies and guidelines of the Communist Party, socio-economic development policies, and laws of the State; at least one article must be published in a domestic specialized journal.

- The duration of the project shall not exceed 36 months from the date of signing the science and technology contract.

Ministry-level science and technology projects are constructed based on the requirements of socio-economic development, orientations, objectives, tasks, programs, and strategies for science and technology development approved by competent authorities, as well as the practical work of state management and science and technology development by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Ministry-level science and technology projects include projects in the fields of technology and engineering (hereinafter referred to as application research and technology development projects), social sciences and humanities projects, and projects in other fields.
