Regulations on the Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones

Ordinance on the Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones 1994 was enacted on May 19, 1994. Notably, this document includes regulations on the protection of national defense works and military zones.

To be specific:, according to Chapter 2 of the 1994 Ordinance on Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones, the regulations on protecting national defense works and military zones are as follows:

- National defense works and military zones are delimited by competent authorities. Depending on the nature of the national defense works and military zones, the competent authorities shall determine the restricted areas, protected areas, and safety belts.

- Based on the nature and intended use, national defense works and military zones are classified and have strict protection regulations for each type.

The protection of national defense works and military zones must ensure secrecy, safety, durability, and longevity for each work; maintain the works according to design requirements and economic-technical justification; and strictly manage the specialized equipment and materials of national defense works and military zones.

- The People's Committees at all levels are responsible for organizing or coordinating the protection of national defense works and military zones within their localities according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam. The people's armed forces units directly protect the national defense works and military zones under their management and use.

The People's Committees at all levels and the people's armed forces units must have plans to regularly coordinate the protection of national defense works and military zones, preventing damages, deterioration, or misuse.

- Any act of encroachment, destruction, or sabotage of national defense works and military zones; construction, exploitation, installation of equipment, and other actions affecting the structure, function, safety, and secrecy of national defense works and military zones are strictly prohibited.

- Residence, production, business activities, entry, exit, movement, filming, photographing, and any other activities within the restricted areas, protected areas, and safety belts of national defense works and military zones must comply with the Regulations of the Government of Vietnam on the protection of national defense works and military zones.
