Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 40/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels for majors and trades in the fields of arts, fine arts, and languages.
Regulations on Minimum Knowledge Volume for Wood Carving Engineering (Illustrative Image)
Circular 40/2018/TT-BLDTBXH prescribes the minimum knowledge volume that students must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in wood carving engineering as follows:
Minimum Knowledge Volume for College Level
- Explain the processes and regulations on labor safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention in wood carving;- Describe the basic characteristics of wood materials;- Explain the basic principles of drawing shapes according to models, composition formats in basic shapes;- Explain the concepts of management and forms of production management;- Analyze the structure, usage, sharpening method, and utilization of manual tools used in wood carving;- Explain the structure, usage, and operating principles of equipment used in wood carving;- Explain the operation processes of various equipment used in wood carving, the process of pattern carving, and the process of relief carving;- Analyze the process of animal carving, cabinet carving, and base cabinet carving;- Analyze the process of carving figures in ancient tales, the process of contemporary figure carving, and the process of surface embellishment of wood carvings;- Explain the process of creating wood carving models;- Analyze the characteristics of each type of wood carving work and methods for assessing the quality of wood carving products;- Explain basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed.
Note: Minimum knowledge volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
Minimum Knowledge Volume for Intermediate Level
- State the regulations on labor safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention in wood carving;- Describe the basic characteristics of wood materials;- Describe the concepts of management and methods of production management;- State the basic principles of drawing shapes according to models, composition formats in basic shapes;- Explain the structure, usage, sharpening method, and utilization of manual tools used in wood carving;- Describe the structure, usage, and operating principles of equipment used in wood carving;- Explain the operation processes of various equipment used in wood carving, the process of pattern carving, and the process of relief carving;- Describe the process of carving animals;- State the process of carving figures in ancient tales and contemporary figures;- Describe the process of carving cabinets and base cabinets;- Explain basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed.
Note: Minimum knowledge volume: 1,700 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
