Regulations on Minimum Skills in the Industrial Automation Sector (Intermediate Level)

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) issued Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications.

In accordance with the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the industrial automation sector, issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the following are the minimum skills learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate level in the industrial automation sector:

- Ability to understand symbols and conventions in technical drawings and specialized electrical diagrams according to IEC standards;

- Ability to identify, classify, select, inspect operational status, and utilize: various types of motors, sensors, basic electronic circuits, measuring and control equipment, specialized controllers, switching and protection devices such as relays, contactors, sensors, etc.;

- Proficiency in using specialized software to draw connection diagrams for controllers and peripheral devices;

- Capability to install, configure, and operate electrical and automated equipment;

- Proficiency in using common specialized tools;

- Ability to program PLC applications for simple systems using basic programming commands;

- Ability to maintain and repair some equipment and parts of automated systems;

- Ability to apply occupational safety and environmental hygiene measures as regulated by law in the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of equipment in automated control systems;

- Ability to provide technical consultancy for customers regarding automated equipment business;

- Proficiency in using basic information technology as regulated; ability to exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional tasks related to the sector;

- Basic foreign language proficiency, achieving level 1/6 in Vietnam's foreign language competency framework; ability to apply the foreign language in professional tasks related to the sector.
