Regulation on Minimum Knowledge Requirements for the Thermal Engineering Technology Industry at the Intermediate Level

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 46/2018/TT-BLD-TBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate or college levels in various fields including materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical technologies.

According to the Minimum Knowledge Requirements, competency standards that learners must achieve upon graduation at intermediate diploma and college diploma levels in the thermal engineering technology sector as stipulated in Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge that students must attain upon graduating in the thermal engineering technology sector at the intermediate diploma level includes:

- Be able to explain the structure, operating principles, control principles, and protective principles of refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems;

- Be able to explain the functions and application scope of devices within refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems;

- Be able to distinguish technical parameters of components, component clusters, and devices within refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems;

- Be able to describe measurement methods, inspections, and propose solutions for troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing devices in refrigeration systems and air conditioning systems correctly according to technical and occupational safety standards;

- Be able to explain some basic contents about mechanics, electrical engineering, and automatic control engineering;

- Be able to explain labor safety standards;

- Be able to explain basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as stipulated.
