Reduction of Late Health Insurance Payment Interest Rates from January 1, 2018

Ho Chi Minh City Social Insurance has just issued Notice 13/TB-BHXH regarding the adjustment of the reduction in the interest rate for late payment and back payment of health insurance starting from January 1, 2018.

Accordingly:

Interest Rate for Late Payment of Health Insurance (BHYT) applied from 2018 is 0.75%/month (reduced by 0.217%/month compared to 2017).

According to Notice 425/TB-BHXH dated February 14, 2017, of Vietnam Social Security, the interest rate for late payment of BHYT in 2017 was 0.967%/month.

Decision 60/2015/QD-TTg dated November 27, 2015, stipulates: For late payment of BHYT from 30 days or more, the interest collected is twice the 9-month interbank market interest rate announced by the State Bank of Vietnam in the preceding year, calculated based on the amount and duration of the late payment.
