The Ministry of Health issued Circular 37/2017/TT-BYT on September 25, 2017, stipulating specific regulations on the protection of individuals and health monitoring in Level IV biosafety laboratories.
Accordingly, Circular 37 stipulates that a biosafety level IV laboratory, in addition to fully complying with legal regulations, must also adhere to the following provisions:
- When entering the laboratory, laboratory staff must change all outer clothing to specialized protective clothing of the laboratory in the changing room; before leaving the laboratory, staff must shower and remove the specialized protective clothing of the laboratory in the changing room.
- No personal items, except for eyeglasses or contact lenses, are allowed to be brought into the laboratory. Eyeglasses or contact lenses must be decontaminated before being taken out of the laboratory.
