This is a featured content specified in Circular No. 06/2019/TT-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam on amendments to Circular No. 24/2015/TT-BTTTT on management and use of Internet resources.
Point a Clause 5 Article 1 of Circular No. 06/2019/TT-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam supplements 01 more base for temporary suspension of “.vn” domain operations, which is: Cases in which the applicant for domain registration fails to be identified due to impersonation; the information about registration of domain name is inaccurate; the domain name user is an organization that has dissolved or no longer exists.
In this case, within 30 (thirty) days after the date on which VNNIC or registrar requests the applicant for domain registration to update or add information that the applicant fails to provide, the domain name shall be suspended in the national domain server system. The registrar shall send a notification of domain name suspension to the applicant for domain registration within 02 (two) working days from the date of suspension. Within 30 (thirty) days from the date of suspension, if the applicant for domain registration updates, adds or completes the registration information, the suspension shall be removed.
In addition to the aforementioned base for temporary suspension of “.vn” domain operations, Circular No. 24/2015/TT-BTTTT of the Ministry of Information and Communications of Vietnam also provides other bases for temporary suspension of “.vn” domain operations, specifically as follows:
- The written request which has been made by the investigation agency to serve the purpose of preventing threats to the information security to maintain the national security, social safety and order on time in accordance with legal regulations;
- The written request which has been made by competent information and communications authorities to serve the purpose of carrying out inspection, examination and violation handling activities, or collaborating with competent inspectorates of other Ministries or industrial authorities in immediately preventing violations against regulations on information and communications as stipulated by laws;
- After 05 (five) days from the expiry date of a domain name, applicants’ failure to pay the fee for domain name maintenance.
