New Regulations on the Deadline for Submitting Periodic Reports under the Management of the Ministry of Justice

On December 31, 2019, the Minister of Justice signed and issued Circular 12/2019/TT-BTP stipulating the periodic reporting regime within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice.

According to Circular 12/2019/TT-BTP, the periodic reporting on the results of judicial work within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice includes reports on the results of judicial work for the first six months of the year and reports on the annual results of judicial work. For periodic reports of sectors within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice, they are integrated into the general periodic reports on the results of judicial work for the first six months of the year and the annual results of judicial work.

The deadline for ministries, ministerial-level agencies, Government-administered agencies, and People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities to submit periodic reports to the Ministry of Justice is no later than the 20th day of the last month of the reporting period.

Additionally, the deadline for the Ministry of Justice to submit periodic reports to the Government of Vietnam and the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam is no later than the 25th day of the last month of the reporting period.

Regarding the timing for closing periodic report data within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice follows the provisions in Article 12 of Decree 09/2019/ND-CP dated January 24, 2019, of the Government of Vietnam, which regulates the reporting policies of administrative agencies. For other periodic reports (if any) within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice, the timing for closing data is regulated by the agency that issues the periodic reporting policies.

This Circular specifies that periodic reports within the management scope of the Ministry of Justice must be submitted electronically with a digital signature and through one of the following methods:

a) Through the Document and Administration System;

b) Through the Ministry of Justice's reporting information system connected to the National Reporting Information System developed by the Office of the Government of Vietnam;

c) Through the email system;

d) Other methods prescribed by law.
