Minimum Skills in the Ship Hull Manufacturing Technology Industry at College Level

Effective from February 10, 2019, Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) prescribes the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at intermediate and college levels in fields such as materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical engineering technologies.

In the stipulation of minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that students must achieve upon graduation at intermediate and college levels in the ship hull manufacturing technology sector, issued along with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that students must achieve upon graduating high-level ship hull manufacturing technology are defined as follows:

- Accurately draw, check, and adjust the ship's shape lines on three projection planes;

- Skillfully develop the structural details and hull plates to meet technical requirements;

- Proficiently draw templates used for marking, manufacture various jigs and molds, and support ship hull manufacturing technology;

- Skillfully process and assemble the structural details of the ship's hull and plating to meet technical requirements;

- Assemble the ship's sections and blocks to meet technical requirements;

- Select the appropriate methods and assemble the ship hull on the slipway ensuring technical requirements;

- Launch the ship ensuring safety;

- Inspect, detect technical errors, and understand the prevention and remedial measures during the manufacturing and repair of ship hulls;

- Effectively communicate information, ideas, and solutions to others in the workplace;

- Organize and instruct labor groups to perform tasks ensuring requirements;

- Utilize basic information technology as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work in the industry;

- Utilize basic foreign languages, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Proficiency Framework; apply foreign languages to professional work in the industry.
