Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) has issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in technical mechanics fields.

As stipulated in the Regulation on the minimum volume of knowledge, and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate level, college level in the field of mechanical equipment manufacturing issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners must achieve after graduating in the mold making industry at the intermediate level are as follows:
- Be able to read detailed drawings, product drawings, and mold assembly drawings using first and third angle projection methods (E and A);
- Be proficient in using some 2D drawing and design software to design simple products or molds;
- Be capable of using and maintaining common measuring tools and equipment (Coordinate measuring machines, scanners) used in the profession;
- Be able to read and create mold manufacturing process plans; assess technological solutions;
- Be able to compose simple mold machining programs using basic codes on numerically controlled machine tools;
- Operate universal milling, lathing, drilling, grinding machines, and numerically controlled machine tools (CNC lathes, CNC mills, wire cutting machines, electrical discharge machines...) as well as handheld equipment properly, ensuring safety according to procedures and regulations;
- Be able to machine mold parts to meet technical requirements (accuracy grades from grade 5 to grade 8, roughness from Rz20 mm to Ra 0.16 mm) within the prescribed time;
- Be capable of manufacturing and assembling certain types of molds using cold working techniques as required;
- Be able to use basic information technology as regulated; apply information technology in some professional tasks of the industry;
- Be proficient in basic foreign language skills, achieving level 1/6 in Vietnam's foreign language proficiency framework; be able to apply foreign languages to some professional tasks in the industry.
