Minimum Skill Requirements for the Intermediate Level Maritime Electrical Engineering

Recently, the MOLISA has issued Circular No. 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements to be achieved by learners after graduation at the intermediate and college levels in technical disciplines of electricity, electronics, and telecommunications.

According to the Regulations on Minimum Knowledge Volume, Competency Requirements that Learners Must Achieve after Graduating with Intermediate and College Level Degrees in Marine Electrical Engineering, promulgated together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimal skills that learners must achieve after graduating with an intermediate degree in marine electrical engineering are as follows:

- Proficient use of tools, testing instruments, and specialized equipment in the field;

- Proficient operation of the marine power station system;

- Proficient operation of electrical panels on ships;

- Maintenance of certain control systems within the electrical system;

- Maintenance of various electrical instruments on ships;

- Repair of certain transformers on ships;

- Repair of single-phase alternating current generators on ships;

- Repair of three-phase alternating current motors on ships;

- Repair of alternating current generators on ships;

- Repair of direct current generators on ships;

- Installation of lighting systems and residential electrical systems on ships;

- Installation of capacitor panels on ships;

- Installation of certain power electrical systems on ships;

- Installation of certain control systems on ships;

- Installation of certain maritime communication and signal systems on ships;

- Installation of certain alarm systems on ships;

- Conducting marine watch inspections;

- Performing tasks related to labor safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention;

- Proficient use of basic information technology as regulated; utilization, processing, and application of information technology in specialized tasks of the field;

- Proficient use of basic foreign languages, achieving level 1/6 in the Vietnam's Language Proficiency Framework; application of foreign languages in specialized tasks of the field.
