Minimum Skill Requirements for Marine Electrical Engineering (College)

Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate level, college level in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications will take effect from February 10, 2019.

As stipulated in the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and capacity requirements that students must achieve after graduating from intermediate, college levels in the marine electrical occupation, issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum skills that learners must achieve after graduating in marine electrical engineering at the college level are as follows:

- Proficient use of tools, testing instruments, measuring equipment, and specialized devices in the occupation;

- Proficient operation of marine power station systems;

- Proficient operation of electrical panels on ships;

- Maintenance of control systems in electrical systems;

- Maintenance of electrical equipment on ships;

- Repair of faulty transformers on ships;

- Repair of single-phase AC generators on ships;

- Repair of three-phase AC motors on ships;

- Repair of AC generators on ships;

- Repair of DC generators on ships;

- Installation of lighting and domestic electrical systems on ships;

- Installation of capacitor panels on ships;

- Installation of power electrical systems on ships;

- Installation of control systems on ships;

- Installation of maritime information and signaling systems on ships;

- Installation of alarm systems on ships;

- Regular inspection of the watch on seagoing ships;

- Acceptance of marine electrical systems according to procedures, ensuring quality and safety;

- Organizing the implementation of tasks and work ensuring occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention;

- Basic use of information technology according to regulations; exploiting, handling, and applying information technology in specialized work in the occupation;

- Basic use of foreign languages, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competency Framework; applying foreign languages in specialized work in the occupation.
