On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Bo Lao Dong - Thuong Binh va Xa Hoi - BLDTBXH) issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate level and college level in technical mechanics fields.

Based on the regulation of minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate or college level in the sewing equipment repair industry, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate-level sewing equipment repair includes:
- Articulate methods of measurement and safety inspection of assembled machine parts and common mechanical structures; execution mechanisms in sewing equipment.
- Identify the system of equipment in the garment industry, methods of organizing and managing maintenance and repair of equipment in garment factories.
- Articulate the structure and methods of using commonly used tools in sewing equipment maintenance and repair.
- Correctly analyze the structure and working principles of single needle, double needle, bar tacking, button attaching, and serging machines.
- Correctly analyze the structure and operating principles of some electrical circuits, electronic components, electrical equipment, and typical machines in sewing equipment.
- Analyze the maintenance, repair, and adjustment processes of mechanical parts in single needle, double needle, bar tacking, button attaching, and serging machines according to technical standards.
- Articulate the procedures for disassembly, assembly, maintenance, and repair of power circuits, control circuits, motors, and electromagnets in single needle and double needle electronic sewing machines to meet the standard working conditions of sewing equipment.
- Articulate the characteristics of Industry 4.0 and environmentally friendly technologies applied in sewing equipment.
- Explain methods for collecting and treating basic industrial waste generated during the maintenance and repair of sewing equipment.
- Articulate the methods for organizing the business of sewing equipment and technology transfer for garment factories.
- Analyze the causes of common malfunctions and preventative measures, handling methods in the repair of single needle, double needle, bar tacking, button attaching, serging machines, and the manufacturing of jigs.
- Articulate the basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense, security, and physical education as regulated.
