Minimum Knowledge of the Intermediate Level Metal Cutting Industry - Illustrative Image

According to the Regulations on the Minimum Knowledge Volume and Competency Requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the metal cutting industry, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level in the metal cutting industry is as follows:

- Understanding basic material symbols: cast iron, steel, various alloys...;

- Analyzing symbols for fitting tolerances, assembly diagrams, dimension series;

- Describing the features, structure, and working principles of some types of machine tools: universal lathe, universal milling machine..., planning machine, shaping machine, grinding machine, CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, EDM machine, wire cutting machine...;

- Describing the physical and mechanical properties of some cutting tool materials (tools, grinding stones, metal and non-metal processing materials) and steel used for turning, milling, planning, drilling, reaming, chiseling, filing...after heat treatment;

- Describing the characteristics of fittings, geometric shape errors, and positional relationships, surface roughness, dimension series;

- Describing the structure, working principles, technical features, application scope of measuring tools, how to measure, read dimensions, and calibrate different types of calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, universal angle gauges, bore gauges...;

- Understanding the working principle of a 3-phase asynchronous motor, usage, and how to use some electrical tools used in machine tools;

- Describing the rules, regulations on labor safety, industrial hygiene, fire and explosion prevention, 5S process for production facilities, measures to increase productivity;

- Describing the technical characteristics, structure, working principles, usage methods, and preservation of tools (clamping, cutting, inspection...) on some types of machine tools;

- Approaching some basic machining methods on CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, EDM machines...knowing some common errors, causes, and preventive measures;

- Describing the technological process of machining some parts according to requirements;

- Describing the basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense, and security, and physical education according to regulations.
