Minimum Knowledge of Mechanical Equipment Maintenance Systems for Intermediate Level

On February 10, 2019, Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in mechanical engineering fields took effect.

In the Regulation on the minimum volume of knowledge, competence requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate, college level in the field of mechanical equipment system maintenance, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH specifies the minimum knowledge that learners must achieve after graduating in the field of intermediate-level mechanical equipment system maintenance as follows:

- Describe the structure, working principle, and technical condition of mechanical equipment, detect simple causes of malfunctions, and propose solutions to address them.

- Describe the methods for developing maintenance, repair, and simple troubleshooting plans to ensure the mechanical equipment works stably;

- Describe the requirements for inspection and adjustment when running the system mechanically without load and with load;

- Describe the tasks when given the responsibility to install, adjust, inspect new equipment, conduct trial operations, and how to draft handover records for mechanical equipment;

- Describe the steps for installing, operating, and maintaining the mechanical equipment system;

- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense, and security, physical education as prescribed.

Furthermore, the self-reliance and responsibility degree required of learners after graduation are as follows:

- Work independently or coordinate to work in a team, resolve tasks in changing working conditions;

- Guide and supervise others in performing defined tasks, take individual and partial responsibility for the group;

- Have a sense of responsibility and evaluate the results of implementation;

- Have professional ethics, labor discipline awareness, respect workplace rules, organizational rules, display industrial manners;

- Ensure personal safety, hygiene, industrial hygiene, and environmental hygiene;

- Have a learning spirit, continuously study to enhance professional knowledge.
