Management and Use of Fees for Appraisal of Operational Conditions in Science and Technology

According to the Circular, the fee rates have increased compared to the previous fee rates as follows:

+ The appraisal fee for the operating conditions regarding science and technology of science and technology organizations is 3,000,000 VND/occurrence (increased by 1,000,000 VND);

+ The appraisal fee for registering changes or additions to the operational fields of science and technology organizations; the content/field of operation of branches and representative offices of science and technology organizations is 2,000,000 VND/occurrence (increased by 500,000 VND/occurrence);

+ The first-time appraisal fee and the renewal of operating conditions regarding science and technology for branches and representative offices of foreign science and technology organizations in Vietnam is 4,000,000 VND/occurrence (increased by 1,000,000 VND/occurrence);

+ The re-issuance, amendment, or supplementation appraisal fee for operating conditions regarding science and technology for branches and representative offices of foreign science and technology organizations in Vietnam is 3,000,000 VND/occurrence (increased by 1,000,000 VND/occurrence).

Additionally, the Circular stipulates that the fee-collecting organizations include the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Departments of Science and Technology. The fee-collecting organizations are responsible for sending the fee amounts collected from the previous month to the fee account awaiting payment to the budget, opened at the State Treasury no later than the 5th of each month.

Circular 298/2016/TT-BTC takes effect from January 1, 2017, replacing Circular 187/2009/TT-BTC dated September 29, 2009, and Circular 166/2010/TT-BTC dated October 27, 2010, of the Minister of Finance.
