Knowledge and Skill Requirements for the Intermediate Level Mechatronics Industry

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs issued Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in technical fields of electrical, electronics, and telecommunications.

As stipulated in the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the field of mechatronics, issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level in the field of mechatronics are as follows:

- Understand the regulations and standards of technical drawings related to the profession.

- Present knowledge of occupational safety and industrial environments.

- Describe the specifications and properties of various materials in the field of mechatronics.

- Present basic knowledge about measurement tolerance, technical drawing, mechanical manufacturing technology, machine element principles, CAD/CAM/CNC technologies.

- Present basic knowledge about industrial drive energy: pneumatics, hydraulics, electric drives, renewable energy forms; electrical-electronics: technical electricity, electronics, electric drive control, measurement sensors, power electronics; control techniques: relay control, PLC control, microcontroller, industrial robots, CNC program-controlled machines.

- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, physical education as prescribed.

Additionally, the minimum skill requirements that learners must achieve after graduation are stipulated as follows:

- Interpret technical drawings of mechatronic systems, control systems, microcontrollers, etc., related to the profession.

- Install, operate, and utilize mechatronic systems, mechatronic products with mechanical, electric-pneumatic, electric-hydraulic drive systems, electric drive control, electro-hydraulic-pneumatic servos.

- Implement control methods: programming PLCs, microcontrollers, robots, various sensors, industrial communication networks in assigned tasks.

- Apply scientific and technological advancements in practical work to install, operate, and maintain industrial production systems in enterprises.

- Control, monitor, and collect data from mechatronic production systems; perform manufacturing of products using CAD/CAM/CNC technology, 3D printing technology, etc.

- Maintain and repair mechanical drive mechanisms, electrical and electronic devices, hydraulic-pneumatic systems in the field of mechatronics.

- Utilize basic IT as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply IT in specialized tasks in the field.

- Use basic foreign languages, achieving level 1/6 of the Vietnamese foreign language competency framework; apply foreign languages in specialized tasks in the field.
