On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (Bo Lao Dong - Thuong Binh va Xa Hoi - BLDTBXH) issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation at the intermediate and college levels in the fields of mechanical engineering technology.

According to the Regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and the competencies that students must achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in Cold Work Manufacturing, issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the Cold Work Manufacturing college level major is primarily used for manipulating various hand tools, equipment with the support of machine tools for fabricating components and assembling, repairing, adjusting, maintaining measuring instruments, fixtures, molds, ... meeting the requirements of level 5 in the National Qualification Framework of Vietnam.
The main tasks of the Cold Work Manufacturing profession include: reading and analyzing technical requirements from drawings, developing manufacturing processes for components, assembly, repair, and adjustment processes for fixtures, molds, measuring tools, ...; using various hand tools with the support of machine tools to fabricate parts, perform assembly, repair, adjustment of fixtures, molds, measuring tools,... operating equipment to perform the tasks of the profession.
Cold Work Manufacturing practitioners work in manufacturing workshops, assembly, repair workshops of mechanical production plants, performing one or several stages of manufacturing, assembling, repairing various fixtures, molds, repairing and maintaining measuring tools.
Workers must have good health and professional ethics and must possess adequate knowledge and professional skills meeting the requirements of each job position.
Minimum knowledge volume: 2,400 hours (equivalent to 85 credits).
