Introduction to the Intermediate Level Course in Mechanical Equipment Installation

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs (MoLISA) promulgated Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in technical mechanics fields.

According to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competence requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate and college levels in the mechanical equipment installation sector, as promulgated with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the mechanical equipment installation sector at the intermediate level is a profession where practitioners perform the installation of projects and plants such as thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants, oil refineries, drilling rigs, cement plants, etc. The installed equipment includes profile steel, equipment clusters, industrial production line systems, meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Practitioners in Mechanical Equipment Installation may work independently or in groups with tasks involving the installation and alignment of mechanical equipment both in factories and on site; installation of production line systems such as steel rolling lines, welding robot lines, stamping forming lines; installation of profile steel equipment such as industrial building frames, conveyor frames, supports; installation of material containment equipment such as tanks, reservoirs, dust filtering equipment, hoppers; installation of circular pipes such as water supply pipes, fire protection pipes, oil supply pipes, and gas supply pipes; installation of square and rectangular pipes such as ventilation systems, dust extraction, air conditioning, steam conduits and gas conduits; assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of mechanical drive units and joints. Additionally, Mechanical Equipment Installation practitioners have the capability to manufacture jigs that aid the installation process, pre-assemble mechanical detail clusters in factories, transport products to the site, and complete installation work.

Minimum volume of knowledge: 1,700 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
