Introduction to the Intermediate Level Course in Consumer Electronics

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) issued Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics, and telecommunications.

In the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the field of Residential Electronics as issued in Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stipulated that residential electronics at the intermediate level is a field where practitioners specialize in assembling, inspecting, repairing, maintaining, producing, operating, and exploiting residential electronic devices such as household electronic devices, monitoring and warning systems, intelligent control systems, residential lighting systems, personal health care devices according to technical requirements, ensuring security and safety, meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnamese National Qualification Framework.

Practitioners in Residential Electronics work in manufacturing facilities, agencies, business units, self-organizing and running production and repair facilities for electronic devices.

To practice, workers must have good health and professional ethics, sufficient specialized knowledge, and professional skills relevant to the job position. They must work and handle tasks proactively, communicate and collaborate in teams, organize and manage the production process, and train and guide lower-level workers according to the prescribed level.

Minimum knowledge volume: 1,430 hours (equivalent to 51 credits).

In addition, graduates have the competency to meet the requirements for job positions in the field, including:

- Manufacturing and assembling residential electronic devices;- Repairing residential electronic devices;- Inspecting and testing product quality;- Consulting on residential electronic services;- Business services for residential electronics.

Note, the minimum volume of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating in the field of Residential Electronics at the intermediate level can continue to develop at higher levels. Graduates have the capacity for self-learning, self-updating scientific and technological advances within the sector to improve their level or transition to higher levels in the same field or in the same industry group or in the same training field.
