Introduction to Industrial Electronics at College Level in Vietnam

From February 10, 2019, Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam on the minimum amount of knowledge and the competency requirements will take effect. According to the Circular, learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of electrical, electronic, and telecommunications engineering.

Pursuant to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at intermediate and college levels in the field of Industrial Electronics, issued along with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, Industrial Electronics at the intermediate level is defined as a field where practitioners perform tasks such as installation, maintenance, servicing, and operation of electrical and electronic devices, control equipment of industrial systems, security monitoring systems, safety alert systems, industrial communication systems, and solar power systems, meeting level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

Practitioners in Industrial Electronics typically work in industrial environments such as factories, enterprises, processing zones, and high-rise buildings. This requires them to have the ability to work independently, organize teamwork, possess professional ethics, adopt an industrial demeanor, practice energy-saving, and protect the environment.

Minimum amount of knowledge: 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).

Note, after graduation, learners will have the competencies to meet the requirements at positions within the industry and field, including:

- Assembling electrical - electronic products;

- Operating electrical and electronic devices;

- Installing and connecting electronic devices;

- Maintaining and servicing electronic devices;

- Repairing electronic devices.

Additionally, the ability for learning and advancement of learners is specifically regulated as follows:

- The minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating in the field of Industrial Electronics at the intermediate level can continue to be developed at higher levels;

- Graduates have the capacity for self-study, self-updating scientific and technological advancements within the scope of their field to enhance their level or for vertical transfer to higher levels within the same field or related fields.
