Introduction to Automotive Technology at College Level and Employment Positions After Graduation

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 46/2018/TT-BLD-TBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate or college levels in various fields including materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical technologies.

According to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduation from the intermediate level and college level in automotive technology, issued together with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, automotive technology at the college level is a field and profession that integrates knowledge from various scientific and technical disciplines such as mechanics, mechanical engineering, electrical-electronics, automation, informatics, safety, etc., meeting level 5 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The field of Automotive Technology mainly focuses on addressing four fundamental issues: design, manufacture, operation, maintenance, and repair.

Graduates can take on roles such as maintenance and repair; manufacturing and production; management and business; training in the field of automobiles and specialized vehicles.

Minimum knowledge volume: 2,470 hours (equivalent to 85 credits).

Additionally, after graduation, learners can meet the requirements for job positions in the field, including:

- Car care and beautification;- Management of automotive supplies and parts;- Production of automotive parts and assembly;- Business in the field of automobiles and automotive parts;- Automotive engine (machine) repair;- Automotive chassis repair;- Electrical and air conditioning repair for automobiles;- Service consulting in the automotive field;- Automotive inspection;- Management of customer care departments at car dealerships and warranty centers;- Management of car garages, automotive warranty, and repair centers.
