How much support is provided to telecommunications enterprises for maintaining public Internet access points?

The details of this content are specified in Circular 02/2020/TT-BTTTT stipulating the list, beneficiaries, scope, quality, maximum tariff of public telecommunications services, and the level of support for providing public telecommunications services until 2020.

Circular 02/2020/TT-BTTTT stipulates that the entities entitled to support for maintaining the operation of public Internet access points are telecommunications enterprises providing such services within the scope of the Universal Telecommunications Service Supply Program until 2020 according to Decision 1168/QD-TTg dated July 24, 2015, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam.

The support level for these enterprises to maintain the operation of public Internet access points is 1,500,000 VND/month/point (one million five hundred thousand VND per month per point).

Moreover, a public Internet access point eligible for this support must meet the following conditions:

- They must be operational public Internet access points within the scope of the Universal Telecommunications Service Supply Program until 2010 according to Decision 74/2006/QD-TTg dated April 7, 2006, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, specifically, points that are still operational at the time of the support within the scope of the Universal Telecommunications Service Supply Program according to Decision 74/2006/QD-TTg dated April 7, 2006, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam; or 500 public Internet access points developed in communes with a low rate of fixed broadband Internet subscription households and no public Internet access points according to Decision 1168/QD-TTg dated July 24, 2015, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam;

- They must be public Internet access points with at least 03 computers to directly provide Internet access services to users.
