According to the regulations in the National technical regulation on the installation of outside telecommunication cable network (QCVN 33:2019/BTTTT) issued together with Circular 20/2019/TT-BTTTT, the minimum horizontal distance from aerial cables to other architectural structures is specified in Table 1.

In cases where cables are installed along the walls of telecommunication stations or high-rise buildings with multiple users, the cables must be switched to underground installation, placed in plastic pipes attached to the walls, or placed in cable trays.

Additionally, the minimum vertical distance between aerial cables and other architectural structures, calculated at the lowest hanging point of the cable, must comply with the regulations of the sectors and units managing the structures as specified in Decree 11/2010/ND-CP, Decree 14/2014/ND-CP and Decree 56/2018/ND-CP.

In locations with existing aerial cable routes, the construction of overhead power lines must be calculated to ensure safety distances in accordance with electrical laws, applying preventive measures to ensure that the power lines do not pose dangerous, disruptive effects to the aerial cable routes and that the power lines remain safe even if they are broken.
