Guidelines on Scoring Internship Evaluation for Legal Aid Assistance

The Ministry of Justice issued Circular 08/2017/TT-BTP on November 15, 2017, providing detailed guidelines on the scoring of the apprentice legal aid examination.

Accordingly, the grading process is specified in Circular 08 as follows:

- Each written test is independently graded by two members of the Writing Examination Board using a 100-point scale. The test score is the average of the two members' scores. In case the scores given by the two members differ by 20 points or more, the Head of the Writing Examination Board will organize a third grading for the candidate's test. The score from this grading will be the official score of the test.- Practical tests are independently graded by members of the Examination Council using a 100-point scale. The practical test score is the average of the scores given by the Council members. The Examination Council organizes the grading of written tests and announces the scores to the candidates, while also posting them on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Justice.- Within 15 days from the date of the score announcement, candidates who disagree with their written test score have the right to file a re-evaluation request to the Chairman of the Examination Council. Practical tests are not subject to re-evaluation.- Within 5 working days from the end of the re-evaluation period, the Chairman of the Examination Council decides to establish a Re-evaluation Board and organizes the re-evaluation. The Re-evaluation Board consists of 3 or more members, including 1 Head. Re-evaluation Board members are not members of the Writing Examination Board. The re-evaluation results must be approved by the Chairman of the Examination Council and are considered final.- Within 3 working days from the completion of the re-evaluation, the Examination Council is responsible for reporting to the Minister of Justice for approval of the results before announcing them to the candidates and posting them on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Justice. Candidates must score at least 50 points on each test to pass the examination.- Within 10 days from the date the examination results are posted on the electronic portal of the Ministry of Justice, the Chairman of the Examination Council issues a Certificate of Evaluation Results for Legal Aid Internship to candidates who pass the examination.
