The State Bank of Vietnam has issued Circular 52/2018/TT-NHNN regulating the credit institution ranking and foreign bank branch rating.

The calculation of the total ranking points of a credit institution, foreign bank branch is guided by Circular 52/2018/TT-NHNN as follows:

- The total ranking points of the credit institution, foreign bank branch are determined based on the total points of each criterion after being multiplied by the weight of each criterion.- The total ranking points of the credit institution, foreign bank branch will be deducted points when the score of the qualitative indicator group of 4 or more criteria is less than or equal to 1 point in the following cases:- In the case of total ranking points greater than 1, the total ranking points of the credit institution, foreign bank branch will be deducted 1 point;- In the case of total ranking points less than or equal to 1, the total ranking points of the credit institution, foreign bank branch will be deducted points and equal to 0.1 points.
