General sanitary examination of water sources for water plant using groundwater in Vietnam (Illustration)
Circular 15/2006/TT-BYT stipulates the general sanitary examination of water sources for water plant using groundwater in Vietnam as follows:
Inspection scope: Within a radius of 330m for wells in areas with well-protected aquifers and 350m for wells in areas with unprotected or poorly protected aquifers, measured from the extraction well (according to Vietnam Standard TCXD-33:1995).
Inspection content:
- Protective fences around the boreholes;
- Construction works (including those of the water plant);- Sewage pipes, canals, ditches passing through;
- Livestock, poultry, or other domestic animals;
- Waste, human excrement, livestock manure, animal carcasses.
Evaluation method: According to the risk scoring method stipulated in Appendix 1 attached to this Circular.
