From February 10, 2019, Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs (BLDTBXH) promulgating regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating at the intermediate level, college level in technical fields of electricity, electronics, and telecommunications comes into effect.

Regarding the Regulation on minimum knowledge volume, competency requirements that students must achieve after graduating from intermediate level, college level in refrigeration equipment installation occupations, issued together with Circular 48/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, it is stated that intermediate-level refrigeration equipment installation is a profession where practitioners perform tasks related to the installation and maintenance of industrial refrigeration systems; deep-freeze storage systems for preserving various types of meat, fish; positive-temperature cold storage for preserving vegetables, fruits with large capacity; quick-freezing cabinets, IQF freezing conveyors, commercial cold storage for preserving products in supermarkets, restaurants, etc., in accordance with the process, meeting technical, aesthetic, and industrial hygiene standards, and satisfying Level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.
The main tasks of the Refrigeration Equipment Installation profession include: installing industrial refrigeration systems, installing commercial refrigeration systems, operating refrigeration systems, maintaining refrigeration systems, improving professional skills, organizing labor, and communicating with customers. Main equipment and tools used to perform the tasks of the profession: soldering kit, mechanical tool kit, pipe bending tools, pipe expanders, gas charging kits, voltage meters, current, insulation testers, pressure leak testing kits, vacuum pumps, various drills, gas recovery machines, electric welders, thermal pipe welding machines, gas leak detectors, lifting devices, high-pressure pumps, flow rate, temperature measuring devices, and balances.
Practitioners can work in industrial zones, services, processing, preserving agricultural products, and food industries, refrigeration equipment manufacturing plants, processing, preserving agricultural products, and food processing plants, enterprises specializing in installation, repair, and maintenance of refrigeration equipment. The working environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings, areas with varying heights, exposed to electrical equipment, pressure devices, lifting machines, and mechanical processing requiring high concentration and specialized skills.
Minimum knowledge volume: 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).
Additionally, after graduation, learners have the capacity to meet the requirements at job positions in the industry, including:
- Installing compressor units;- Installing heat exchangers, expansion valves;- Installing piping systems;- Installing auxiliary equipment;- Installing electrical systems.
