This is a significant content specified in Decree 43/2020/ND-CP stipulating the execution of the death penalty by means of lethal injection, issued by the Government of Vietnam on April 08, 2020.

According to Article 7 of Decree 43/2020/ND-CP, the funeral costs for an executed person include:
- 01 wooden coffin,- 01 set of clothing,- 04 meters of burial cloth,- Incense, candles, wine, alcohol for cleaning the corpse before burial, and other funeral expenses.
In case the relatives or the legal representative of the person sentenced to death receive the corpse or ashes for burial, they must bear the costs themselves and commit to complying with the laws regarding security, order, and environmental sanitation.

Facilities ensuring the execution of death sentences:
The Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense, based on actual circumstances, shall invest in constructing execution houses and working rooms for the Execution Council at the provincial police level and regional military units to ensure the execution of the death penalty by lethal injection.
Equipment and means for executing the death sentence include:
- Beds with straps to restrain the condemned person;- Automatic drug injection machines with control buttons;- Heartbeat monitoring machines;- Screens and devices to monitor and check the execution process;- Other tools and equipment to serve the execution.
