From July 1, 2020, telecommunication cable poles must meet these requirements

The telecommunications cable poles must meet the technical requirements listed in the National Technical Regulation on the Installation of External Telecommunications Cable Networks (QCVN 33:2019/BTTTT) issued under Circular 20/2019/TT-BTTTT as follows:

- Telecommunications cable poles made of reinforced concrete, shaped steel, or other materials must ensure quality according to regulations.

- Corner poles and load-bearing poles (tall connection poles, road-crossing poles) must be reinforced. Reinforcement designs can include stays, guy anchors, building blocks, pole bracing, or composite pole constructions.

- New cable poles must not be erected on roads where existing cable poles are present. Each telecommunications service provider (cable owner) may install no more than one cabinet/box on each pole and must not wrap the cable around the pole body.

In addition, the burial depth of the telecommunications cable poles depends on the soil grade at the burial site, the length of the poles, and the reinforcement methods calculated by the design unit to ensure quality according to the approved design.

The maximum distance between cable poles on the same route must be calculated in accordance with the load-bearing capacity of the poles, height, the number of hanging cables, and other factors. The maximum tension must be less than the allowable maximum tension of the cable.

Furthermore, the requirements for telecommunications cable poles under power lines must comply with the regulations in Decree 14/2014/ND-CP and QCVN 01:2008/BCT.
