On July 8, 2020, the Government of Vietnam officially promulgated Decree 79/2020/ND-CP stipulating policies in building and mobilizing the reserve force.
From August 21, 2020, what allowances do families of reservists receive? (illustrative image)
The families of reservists, as stipulated in Clause 3, Article 2 of Decree 79/2020/ND-CP, are entitled to the following allowances:
- An allowance of VND 160,000 per day applies to families of reservists who are working, studying, or employed in agencies, organizations, and receiving salaries from the state budget.
- An allowance of VND 240,000 per day applies to families of reservists who do not fall under the category specified in point (a) of this subsection.
- In the case of reservists who are sick or have an accident and seek medical examination and treatment, their families will receive allowances, but not exceeding the time period of concentrated training, exercises, readiness checks for mobilization, readiness for combat and mobilization.
Reservists include reservists assigned to reserve units; reservists appointed to command positions in reserve units; reservists during the period of concentrated training (training, conversion training, rank adjustment, supplementary training), exercises, readiness checks for mobilization, readiness for combat and mobilization when not yet at the level of general or partial mobilization; and trainees in officer training programs.
After the completion of each period of concentrated training, exercises, readiness checks for mobilization, readiness for combat and mobilization, the unit directly responsible for training, exercises, readiness checks for mobilization, readiness for combat and mobilization will compile a list of reservists; confirm the number of days in concentrated training, exercises, readiness checks for mobilization, readiness for combat and mobilization; and determine the level of allowances for families of reservists, sending it to the district-level military command where the reservist was called to concentrate for allowance disbursement to families of reservists.
