On July 05, 2019, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 08/2019/TT-BTNMT on Economic-Technical Norms for Developing Thematic Maps Using Remote Sensing Images at scales of 1:5,000, 1:10,000, 1:500,000, and 1:1,000,000.
04 Types of Difficulties in Extracting Thematic Content from Remote Sensing Images (Illustrative Image)
The economic-technical norms issued with Circular 08/2019/TT-BTNMT classify 04 types of difficulties in technology labor norms for extracting thematic content from remote sensing images, including:
- Type 1: These are maps with simple content, few thematic indicators displayed on the map (less than 10 indicators), the easily identifiable interpreted objects, the area displaying the thematic objects accounts for less than 20% of the map sheet area.- Type 2: These are maps with relatively complex content, an average number of thematic indicators displayed on the map (from 10 to 20 indicators), the area displaying the thematic objects accounts for 20% to 50% of the map sheet area. The interpreted objects are mostly easy to identify, with some difficult-to-interpret objects requiring reference to supporting documents.- Type 3: These are maps with complex content, a complex number of thematic indicators displayed on the map (from 20 to 30 indicators), the area displaying the thematic objects accounts for 50% to 70% of the map sheet area. The interpreted objects are difficult to identify, many difficult-to-interpret objects require reference to multiple types of supporting documents.- Type 4: These are maps with very complex content, with many complex thematic indicators displayed on the map (over 30 indicators), the area displaying the thematic objects accounts for more than 70% of the map sheet area. The interpreted objects are difficult to identify, easy to confuse, many difficult-to-interpret objects require reference to many types of supporting documents. The process of fully interpreting the map content needs to use specialized documents and aggregate various supporting documents.
