Expanding the Recipients of the "Order of Friendship" to Include Foreign Nationals

This is the content presented in the Draft Law on Emulation and Commendation (Amendment) 2019. The draft stipulates that the award of the "Friendship Medal" is for foreigners.

To be specific, under Article 51 of the Draft Law on Amending the Law on Emulation and Commendation the regulation regarding the awarding of the "Medal of Friendship" to foreigners is as follows:

- The "Medal of Friendship" is awarded or posthumously awarded to foreigners, and awarded to groups of foreigners for their significant contributions in building, strengthening, and developing the friendship between Vietnam and other countries around the world;- The First Class "Medal of Friendship" is awarded or posthumously awarded to foreigners, and awarded to foreign organizations for their significant contributions in building, strengthening, and developing the friendship between Vietnam and other countries around the world;- The Second Class "Medal of Friendship" is awarded or posthumously awarded to foreigners, and awarded to foreign organizations for their positive contributions in building, strengthening, and developing the friendship between Vietnam and other countries around the world;- The Third Class "Medal of Friendship" is awarded or posthumously awarded to foreigners, and awarded to foreign organizations for their active contributions in building, strengthening, and developing the friendship between Vietnam and other countries around the world.

Thus, this Draft has expanded the recipients of the "Medal of Friendship" to include foreigners with significant contributions to the construction and defense of Vietnam.
