Evaluation Scores for Vocational Education Teachers in Vietnam

Circular 08/2017/TT-BLDTBXH, issued on March 10, 2017, stipulates the standards of professional expertise and skills for vocational education teachers in Vietnam. One of the notable points in this document is the regulation on the evaluation scores for vocational education teachers.

  1. The maximum score for each indicator is 2 points. The principal or director of the vocational education institution in Vietnam decides on the specific score for each indicator based on three levels: 0, 1, 2.

  2. The maximum score for a standard is the total maximum score of the indicators within the standard.

  3. The total maximum score for an educator is the total maximum score of the standards applicable to each educator in Vietnam. The total maximum score for an educator teaching at the elementary level is 72 points; for an educator teaching theory or practice at the intermediate or college level, it is 84 points; for an educator teaching integrated subjects at the intermediate or college level, it is 88 points.

  4. Conversion formula for evaluation scores to a 100-point scale

Conversion Score (integer part) = Total evaluation score achieved x 100
Total maximum evaluation score
  1. Educators in Vietnam who teach multiple levels of training will be evaluated and classified according to the standard of the highest level they teach.
