In accordance with the regulations issued with Circular 21/2019/TT-BLDTBXH, the profession “Solar Energy System Technology Engineering” at intermediate level is a profession that focuses primarily on the calculation, design, installation, and maintenance of solar electrical equipment and solar heat collectors; operation of solar power plants; production and trading of solar electrical equipment and heat collectors to meet the level 4 requirement in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework. Currently, solar energy is widely applied as it is a green and clean energy source. This energy can be converted into electrical or thermal energy according to usage needs. The development trend of the renewable energy sector (Solar power and solar energy-based heating systems) globally as well as in Vietnam will gradually change traditional energy sources (Nuclear, thermal power, hydropower, etc.).

The profession "Solar Energy System Technology Engineering" requires workers to have from basic to advanced knowledge and skills in installation processes according to regulations, and simultaneously have knowledge and skills in maintenance, repair, troubleshooting of power plant and transformer station systems, electrical safety, thermal safety, understanding of workplace hazards, risk assessment, handling of abnormal situations and electrical and thermal equipment malfunctions.

After graduating from the profession "Solar Energy System Technology Engineering" at the intermediate level, learners can work in the following positions: Solar power system installer; Solar power system installer; Solar cell power plant operator; Solar cell power system maintenance and repair; Solar heat collection system maintenance and repair.

In addition, learners can explore and research in the working environment to improve their professional knowledge and skills, organize professional activities, and meet the labor market demands while also pursuing higher education to complete their knowledge, skills, and further develop their abilities and thinking to meet personal and societal development needs.

Especially, after graduation, learners are capable of meeting the requirements at the job positions of the industry, including:

- Solar power system installer;- Solar heat collection system installer;- Solar cell power plant operator;- Solar cell power system maintenance and repair;- Solar heat collection system maintenance and repair.

The minimum knowledge volume and capacity requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from the intermediate-level profession Solar Energy System Technology Engineering can be further developed at higher levels; graduates have the ability to self-study, update technological advancements within their industry to enhance their level or continue to bridge to higher qualifications in the same industry or within the same field of training.
